Curatorial Review: Feathers in My Eyes
Hypha’s Feathers in My Eyes is a meditation on perception, imagination, and the gentle act of surrendering to the unknown.
The portrait, crowned with an ethereal explosion of feathered light, captures the moment where thought becomes flight, where the mind drifts beyond the limits of the body into a space of openness and wonder.
The work speaks to the integral role of perspective in the creative process.
By softening our focus and letting intrusive or rigid thoughts dissolve, we allow imagination to bloom. The feathers, delicate yet radiant, embody this release. Each stroke suggesting the upward motion of ideas escaping constraint. In this way, what might once have felt like obscurity, something clouding the eyes becomes instead a veil of transformation. Mistakes and improvisations are absorbed into the image, transfigured into beauty through Hypha’s hand. This is the courage of creation: not erasure, but expansion; not control, but trust. Feathers in My Eyes reminds us that every act of making is therapeutic, a brave flight into vulnerability, where the mind is free to wander skyward.
